Lead will be responsible for direct leadership of our System Operations team, owning overarching IT systems requirements from identification to resolution. The Lead will provide oversight of existing IT systems ensuring continuity of operations, seamless updates and patching, and overall management of system accessibility to include day-to-day management of existing system(s) operations. The Lead will be responsible for direct collaboration with both Team Arcticom and supported Government representatives in the transition of existing systems to the Cloud environment requiring consultation on potential designs and implementation methods of applications and services for cloud platforms like Windows Azure, Kubernetes, and AWS. This is a combined team leadership and customer-facing role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a technical customer-facing role that will be accountable for managing both existing systems operations (Marine Corps IT systems) and delivering guidance on the pros/cons of various Cloud service offerings and implementations. This role will require you to think creatively, render opinions on design options and interact directly with client executive and technical staff related to systems operations, systems to Cloud migration strategy, and Cloud environment management. The ideal candidate will have the ability to join and effectively manage existing systems operations, then support the eventual transition to the Cloud environment. A candidate would be expected to provide the following:
Experienced organizational and managerial abilities to a systems operations team to support overall Task Order requirements; lead projects related to systems and/or Cloud initiatives.
Work collaboratively with other Task Order leads, to include Cybersecurity, to support overarching requirements, implement new directives, and coordinate project execution (as appropriate).
Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to both large and small audiences.
Ensure the maintenance and functioning of hardware, software and network systems, monitor performance and resolving issues.
Identify vulnerabilities, implement security measures, and ensure data protection to include patching of both Non-classified Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) and Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) networks.
Oversee system backups, disaster recovery plans and continuity efforts to include coordination with other government agencies providing IT, instance, or environment services.
Must be capable of demonstrating experience in conducting analysis and developing solutions and in the application of information technology.
Produces and reviews technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of specific technical areas. Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes to increase efficiency.
Understanding of multiple Cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends, especially data pipeline and data analysis tools and services. Experience implementing architecture and operating solutions built on Cloud platforms.
Serve as a technical and strategic lead in the sustainment and support of Cloud-based system operations. Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders—technical and non-technical—by clearly articulating challenges, solutions, and strategic vision.
Evaluate system requirements and recommend iterative improvements, migrations, and enhancements.
Provide guidance on Cloud service options (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including architecture patterns, deployment models, security, and cost implications.
Lead planning and execution of Cloud-based system support, operational management coordination, and process documentation.
Oversee and ensure proper configuration, deployment, monitoring, and support of critical Cloud systems.
Establish and uphold audit logging, monitoring, and risk management practices across Cloud-based environments.
Lead cross-functional project planning, road mapping, and tracking of deliverables; provide progress reports and solution recommendations to stakeholders.
Promote Agile methodologies and foster a high-performing DevOps/CloudOps team through servant leadership.
Experience with support and management of distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
Proven track record of building trusted technical and business relationships with business executives and driving growth in highly strategic or key accounts.
Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring execution of action.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
10+ years of experience in system operations, including 3+ years of Cloud architecture and operations.
Must be US Citizen.
Must have a current Secret clearance; eligible for immediate reinstatement.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.
Proven experience in Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated services (compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and DevOps tools).
Strong understanding of Cloud security, audit logging, and compliance frameworks.
Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
Experience supporting DoD or government systems.
Familiarity with Agile frameworks and DevSecOps practices.
Live within 50 miles of a Marine Corps Installation with Sensitive Compartmental Information Facilities (SCIF) access; preferably Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Lejeune, NC; MCB Camp Pendleton, CA; or MCB Quantico, VA.
Must have or be able to attain a security clearance; this position will require periodic access to a SCIF for SIPR patching.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Strong foundation of knowledge around cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, Kubernetes and the cloud ecosystem.
Strong foundation in use of workflow systems, specifically Jira and Confluence, to effectively track, organize, and report data/status of work.
Working knowledge of Cloud services and coming trends in the Cloud space, specifically around data analytics as a service.
Serving as a hands-on subject matter expert for DevOps and Automation in a cloud environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills leveraging all available resources.
Ability to connect technology with measurable business value.
Leadership: Demonstrated technical thought leadership in customer facing situations.

Director of Asset Management
Our client, in the development and operation of renewable and conventional power generation, as well as a bio-fuel pellet facility, is seeking a Director of Asset Management to join its Buffalo Grove, IL-based Asset Management team. The successful candidate will possess strong management skills, a strong technical background, and a basic understanding of the mechanics of North American energy markets.
This is a Direct Hire position. No sponsorship will be given (only US Citizens and Green Card holders will be considered).
Responsibilities:
Manage and optimize financial, contractual and regulatory aspects of a diverse portfolio of electrical generation assets and a bio-fuel pellet facility.
Lead communications with corporate team, plant personnel, partners, service providers, Independent System Operators, customers and consultants in managing day-to-day operations.
Lead back-end settlement process for electrical energy and capacity sales as well as environmental emission transactions.
Develop and manage project budgets.
Required Experience:
Strong quantitative and analytics background, preferably energy and fuel markets related.
Strong understanding of physical and financial electricity, congestion, natural gas, emissions, and market design in one or more of the North American control areas.
Strong understanding of energy, capacity and emission markets.
